Popcorn.
Hazel eyes received the bag of Fair buttered popcorn and she carelessly popped one in her mouth.
They hadn't even been back from Los Angles for more than two days and she was already at the Fair, eating popcorn and acting as if nothing had happened.
So much had happened.
Cade forced those thoughts away and was consumed by the sounds and the Ferris Wheel. Getting in line, she munched slowly. Her and Johnny had contacted nobody yet. When the doctor's had released her from the hospital they had gotten the car and motorcycle and moved back to L.A. for a while just to get away. It was there she learned what really had happened.
Dallas managed to get away with it. He always did. If it wasn't for his connections he wouldn't have. The screaming she had done to Johnny and the way he had just stood there and took it...then later she found him sobbing with a gun in his hand. She had wrestled the gun away, despite her injuries. She looked over at the quiet, dark haired man that was her closest friend shooting ducks at a booth like a little kid. It made her really, truley smile for the first time in a while.
The line moved up.
Aim and...
Ping.
One duck went down and Johnny reloaded and took aim again.
Ping.
He received the stuffed tiger and thought mindlessly of giving it to Cade. He hadn't heard from Daniella in a while but after the articles in the papers about the suspicion for him and Dallas murdering Brian he didn't blame her.
He strolled along with the stuffed tiger over his shoulder. No one he knew was there. Maybe that was a good thing...

"Hey, it's you people," Sarah said, noticing that she and Sam were walking past Cade and Johnny at the fair. She and Sam had just arrived at the fair and were looking forward to going on the rides. It was kind of a pov fair in Roseglen every year, mostly aimed towards little kids, but it was still fun. It had everything a person needed: cotton candy, a Ferris wheel, and caramel popcorn.
Sam grinned. "Hey! Where have you guys been hiding out?" she asked. She hadn't seen them in a while. Cade looked much better now, which pleased her. She hated seeing people hurt.
They had both heard the gossip about Johnny and Dallas being responsible for Ryan's death, but neither of them cared. Ryan deserved whatever he had gotten that night, and they couldn't blame Johnny and Dallas for looking out for Cade. Neither of them were convicted either, and if they weren't charged as criminals then it wasn't fair for them to be treated as such.

Oh wow!
Cade span around with her popcorn, a few bits falling on the grass. She looked at Sam and Sarah with bright eyes and she smiled. "Hey!"
Johnny gave the two girls a hug and gave a brief but brilliant smile. Of course, since the incident he had grown even more silent and a bit more sullen and seeing him smile was even rarer than usual.
Cade began chattering away, like nothing had happened. "We moved back to L.A. for a while to let thing...settle down I guess. Dally's in New York visiting some family." What she meant he was letting things cool down even more, but she was cautious even with mates.
Johnny shoved his hands into his pockets and looked about. He seemed even more distant now and had a troubled look in his eyes. He still wasn't over it. He still had nightmares of Ryan being shot and laying there...dead...
Cade put a hand on his arm and he shrugged. "It was good to see some people."
He felt awkward as well because he knew...it was Sarah's cousin he had out and out murdered. He didn't tell Cade that. Some things are just better left unsaid.

Sarah and Sam hugged Johnny back as he hugged them.
"Oh yeah? How was L.A.?" Sarah asked, understanding immediately what Cade meant. Sam was pretty sure she understood too, although she was just making assumptions while uninformed, unlike Sarah. Sarah had held true to her promise to Johnny and hadn't told Sam that Johnny and Dallas had killed Ryan.
Sarah looked at Johnny and smiled softly. It wasn't a happy smile, she still wasn't happy that Ryan had died, but it was a smile to kind of tell him that she was fine with it, and he should cheer up. He seemed like he was still upset over the whole situation. She felt bad that he was feeling bad over the whole situation, when Ryan had clearly deserved what he had gotten.
"So you're looking much better," Sam said to Cade.

It was...
Cade gave a tired smile. "It was good to go back. The shop is reopening and we're going to renovate it as well. As for looking better, I still have tape on my rips." She lifted her shirt to show how her ribs were still knitting. They weren't so sore now but sometimes a stabbing pain made her have to rest.
Johnny looked Sarah in the eye and gave a slight, ever so slight nod to show he understood. "Feels like we're strangers here again." he admited with a sigh. He gave Cade the tiger and stole some popcorn.
She grinned and squeezed it. "Divorce your 'wee' man yet?" Cade teased Sam.
